Nick Haussling's story is a prototypical music biz tale: after getting his feet wet in the mailroom at Geffen Records in 1997, he segued to Irving Azoff's Giant Records in 1998. He worked his way into the A&R department by 1999, where he remained until the company was bought by Warner Bros. in 2001. Nick was one of only three Giant workers who survived the transition and he took full advantage of his opportunity: Nick's A&R career grew significantly at Warner Bros., where he
signed Kimbra, Mystery Skulls, Art Of Dying and has credits working with Disturbed, Gary Clark Jr., Avenged Sevenfold, Echosmith, Mastodon, The
Veronicas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Steely Dan and Guster, as well as
soundtracks for Transformers, Inception, Inglourious Basterds, Watchmen and 300, etc.
In May of 2014 Nick was hired by the co-owner of Razor & Tie to head up West Coast A&R, where he recently signed Holy White Hounds. Nick brings to Razor & Tie an extensive Rolodex and relationships built upon loyalty, strong work ethic, networking with key influencers and decision makers and in-depth knowledge and enjoyment of all musical genres.
